Online Guided Meditation Sessions
The end of the year can be overwhelming. Rushed plans, family pressures, work deadlines and that strange mix of exhaustion and expectation that lands in your body.
Weekly online meditations to help your nervous system settle
Join Kimberley, Rough Patch counsellor and certified meditation teacher, for a month of online guided meditations available to the Rough Patch community. These will be low-cost, half hour sessions hosted on Zoom. All are welcome and no previous meditation experience is necessary.
The theme for each meditation sets the tone for what you’ll be guided through in each session. These gentle sessions are not about ‘clearing your mind’, pushing through a leg cramp, or finding enlightenment (bonus if that happens!). Rather, it’s about practicing slowing down to allow time and space for your nervous system to regulate stress and fatigue in the body and mind.
- Each low-cost session will be available at $5 per session.
- Advance registration for each session is essential.
- All welcome, whether you’re part of Rough Patch or not.
More sessions coming soon! Signup To Hear When
Session 1 – Grounding
Tuesday 9 December, 8.00 am AEDT
This meditation is designed for nervous system regulation by practicing present moment awareness, and through visualisation of connection to the ground, then coming back to Self through breath and body scan.
If body scans do not feel comfortable for you, you’re welcome to stay with any visualisation or feeling that feels good for you.
If visualisation feels tricky (I don’t see pictures in my mind so this used to stress me out!), you can stay with the sense you have of the elements of the visualisation, or whatever feels most comfortable for you.
Session 2 – Gratitude meditation
Friday 12 December, 12.15 pm AEDT
The practice of reflecting on the things in our lives we’re grateful for, to cultivate a feeling of appreciation for what we do have.
Session 3 – Deep rest
Monday 15 December, 5.00 pm AEDT
Non-sleep deep rest meditation helps guide your brain and body into deep relaxation without falling asleep (but it’s ok if you do!).
This meditation is helpful for balancing your nervous system and shifting down gears from the busyness of day. With this in mind, the start of the meditation may feel challenging as we move from the ‘doing of the day’ to ‘being in the moment’.
There is no right or wrong way to meditate. Rather, it’s a practice of practicing being still and allowing your mind and body to help process what’s happening at the time.
Session 4 – Intention setting
Saturday 20 December, 9.00 am AEDT
This meditation invites you to consider the year ahead and set intentions to help guide your decision-making so you’re moving towards things you would like, or ways you would like to Be in your life. You may like to bring a notebook to write down what comes up after the session.
This meditation coincides with the new moon (if moon phases are your jam), the phase for intention setting, so get those crystals and candles out (safely of course) for the vibes.
Session 5 – Kindness
Monday 22 December, 9.30 am AEDT
This meditation will guide a practice of kindness and gentleness with Self as we reflect on the year past, and navigate the final weeks of 2025.
We will also practice cultivating kindness for others, and lean into kindness for those around us in the community.
Session 6 – Grounding
Monday 29 December, 10.00 am AEDT
This meditation is designed for nervous system regulation by practicing present moment awareness, and through visualisation of connection to the ground, then coming back to Self through breath and body scan.
If body scans do not feel comfortable for you, you’re welcome to stay with any visualisation or feeling that feels good for you.
If visualisation feels tricky (I don’t see pictures in my mind so this used to stress me out!), you can stay with the sense you have of the elements of the visualisation, or whatever feels most comfortable for you.
