Background:
Naaz is a PACFA registered counsellor. Her work is grounded in person centred and trauma informed practice, with a strong focus on identity, meaning making, and the influence of family, culture and wider systems on emotional wellbeing.
Specialty:
Naaz specialises in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression and stress, career and life direction concerns, grief and loss, and relationship breakdowns including divorce. She also works with family of origin experiences, spiritual and religious identity issues, sexual shame, codependency, and experiences of marginalisation. Naaz brings particular experience supporting LGBTQIA+ and gender diverse clients, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and young people and adolescents.
Approach:
Naaz works from a non prescriptive, relational and integrative therapeutic stance. Drawing on approaches such as narrative therapy, internal family systems, psychodynamic and somatic based work, she offers a supportive yet gently challenging space for clients to explore their inner worlds. Naaz values the therapeutic relationship as a place to examine personal stories alongside cultural and relational contexts, supporting clients to hold complexity, navigate paradox, and integrate different parts of themselves with compassion and clarity.
Perspective:
Naaz values agency, humility, compassion and authenticity in her work. She views therapy as a process of holding up a compassionate mirror that is both validating and challenging. Naaz aims to step into each client’s world with care, supporting them to reconnect with their most authentic selves and move forward in ways that align with their values and goals.

Important Notice
There are some people that our counsellors can’t work with – not because we don’t want to, but because we want you to have the best possible care.
If you currently experience domestic violence, are having a mental health crisis, are experiencing severe substance dependency issues, or other acute crises, we can’t provide you with the level of support you deserve. However, we will use your initial appointment to connect you with places that specialise in these issues, so you can get the best possible care.
All Rough Patch counsellors manage their own scheduling and administration. Click on a profile below to read more and send an email enquiry. In the rare event you don’t hear from a counsellor within 24 hours, please call us on 02 7226 0809
All of our counsellors generously reduce their usual fees to provide affordable mental healthcare to our community. They do not receive government rebates or funding to provide their services.
