Background:
Vidhi is a PACFA registered counsellor who has a background in both inpatient and outpatient settings at NSW Health with a focus on substance counselling; in NGO settings supporting clients recovering from long term mental health admissions; and with NDIS participants. Her work is shaped by trauma-informed, person-centred values, with a strong focus on cultural awareness, dignity, and choice. She pays close attention to how identity, migration, community, and systems influence the way you might experience and express distress.
Specialty:
Vidhi helps people facing anxiety, depression and stress; grief and loss; parenting and family challenges; work and caring responsibilities; and questions about cultural identity. She is experienced in supporting those affected by marginalisation, including LGBTQIA+ and gender diverse people; those living with chronic illness or disability; and migrants navigating cultural complexity.
Vidhi also offers counselling sessions to people who speak Gujarati and Hindi.
Approach:
Vidhi’s style is warm, flexible, and grounded in respect for your pace and inner wisdom. Drawing from approaches like narrative therapy, parts-based work (IFS), mindfulness, and other integrative methods, Vidhi takes time to understand what matters to you and shapes each session around your unique needs. She looks beyond symptoms or labels, focusing on your whole story including your challenges, strengths, and hopes. Vidhi believes therapy isn’t about “fixing” you, but about building understanding, connection, and a sense of safety so you can explore what’s most important in your life.
Perspective:
Vidhi values warmth, attentiveness, and cultural humility. She thinks of therapy as a journey, not a straight line, with rises, pauses and unexpected turns. Her role is to walk alongside you, offering steadiness, curiosity, and compassion whether you are moving forward, taking a break, or finding yourself somewhere unexpected. Vidhi aims to create a space where you can slow down, feel safe, and explore your inner world without judgement, honouring your dignity and your need to feel seen and understood.

Important Notice
There are some people that our counsellors can’t work with – not because we don’t want to, but because we want you to have the best possible care.
If you currently experience domestic violence, are having a mental health crisis, are experiencing severe substance dependency issues, or other acute crises, we can’t provide you with the level of support you deserve. However, we will use your initial appointment to connect you with places that specialise in these issues, so you can get the best possible care.
All Rough Patch counsellors manage their own scheduling and administration. Click on a profile below to read more and send an email enquiry. In the rare event you don’t hear from a counsellor within 24 hours, please call us on 02 7226 0809
All of our counsellors generously reduce their usual fees to provide affordable mental healthcare to our community. They do not receive government rebates or funding to provide their services.
